Polish Consul thanks 36th Ulster Division Memorial Association on behalf of the Polish Government.

The Polish Government has recognised the formal gesture of sympathy made by the 36th Ulster Division
Memorial Association at the deaths of the Polish President and his wife at a ceremony in Krakow.

The original ceremony took place at the Katyn Cross on May the 13th when Davy Hagan a group leader
met with Marta Urbanska of the Historical faculty of the Technical university of Krakow and after a short
ceremony laid a wreath to make this terrible tragedy and also the murder of thousands of Polish Officers
by invading Soviet forces during the Second World War.

During the recent Thin End of the Wedge Steering Panel meeting Eva Grossman from the Unite Against Hate Campaign presented Gorman McMullan with a letter of thanks from MY Jerome Mullan Honorary Consul of the Polish Government in Northern Ireland.

The letter expressed thanks for the sympathy expressed by the Association and the positive effect this made on the Polish population in the province.
